One of our program's main goals is to create a formative playing environment that develops Agility, Balance, Coordination & Speed (ABCS) to boost and bolster fundamental movement skills, physical literacy, perception-action / decision-making, and soccer skill acquisition.
As environmental architects, we use a constraints-led approach (CLA) to foster technical, tactical, perceptual, cognitive, and physical development. A major goal of our program and it's practice design principles are to challenge and adapt the player's perceptual system while strengthing the perception-action cognitive coupling & decision-making.
If we want to develop independent and creative problem solvers, we must use small-sided game-like environments that use realistic and representative elements like bi-directionality, opposition, & consequence (transition to offense & transition to defense) to foster the development of the skillful "Four Moment Player".
Giving the player the "FREEDOM TO PLAY" in small-sided games, we maximize player enjoyment, risk-taking, and the development of creativity. Along with maximizing player development we also maximize player engagement and most importantly, FUN!
